THE LEAGUE OF REMEMBRANCE
TRUSTEES' REPORT
FOR THE YEAR ENDED 31 AUGUST 2014
The futur e
2015 marks the Centenary of the League of Remembrance and plans to celebrate this important year are in hand. It is hoped that
one of the highlights will be a reception held in the Speaker's House, The Palace of Westminster combined with a service of
Thanksgiving in the Crypt Chapel.
All events during the year will concentrate on raising public awareness of the work of the League, honouring its history and its
evolvement over the years to its present day activities and aspirations for the future.
Since founding the League in the First World War, the world has seen considerable changes, with more international conflicts,
great advances in medicine, science and technology and a society with different needs and expectations. The League has risen to
these challenges and adapted its work to meet them whilst remaining true to its original concept.
As we march forward into the second century of the League's history we will be faced with many more challenges and this need to
remain flexible and adaptable will be even more important
We have daunting yet exciting years ahead into 2015 and beyond. To conclude we record our grateful thanks and appreciation to
all who continue to help us in so many ways.
